Section 1 -- About Good CARma Driving School
Give time and space to others & you will be giving yourself time to process information and space to make safe maneuvers.
Learning to drive is the most important "right of passage" in one's life. Most people have some knowledge of driving from an observation point of view &, given the opportunity can gain "control" of the car. Simply operating the vehicle & knowing green "go", red "stop" does not constitute driving in this day & age.
Driving consists of operating a vehicle in a controlled manner conducive to quick & safe responses, obeying laws & rules of the road, being communicative to other drivers by showing clear intentions, seeing & processing ever changing information, making safe decisions & quick judgment calls.
Practice makes perfect if you have first learned perfection. If you have first learned incorrectly or incompletely, practicing will simply reinforce bad habits. Good habits are formed by proper learning & diligent reinforcement. Family members who intend to assist in the learning process will be asked to observe on at least 1 lesson.
Learning on a simulator, in an empty parking lot or quiet neighborhood is not realistic learning; therefore, are not offered as part of the curriculum. When learning defensive driving (day 1 & each lesson thereafter), the student must learn variables on how pedestrians & traffic behave. When being introduced to the family vehicle, please take it slow & easy. Empty parking lot is suggested. Do not try to match the level of advancement in the lessons until it is appropriate to do so.
